Grounded Astrid Swan

“Grounded” by Astrid Swan // Hits (Pavement for Girls) (2011)

Well, this is certainly an artist after my own heart. Astrid Swan has undertaken a task of covering an albums worth of Pavement songs, and she does them all a wonderful amount of justice, but it’s this gorgeous cover of Wowee Zowee’s “Grounded” (one of my all time favorite Pavement tracks). Here, the slowed down vibe gives a shimmering ethereal beauty to the already somber track. It’s a stellar cover.
